Transmission Gully's environmental performance has gone from bad to worse

Transmission Gully's environmental performance has gone from bad to worse

Greater Wellington Regional Council figures show the number of consent breaches, failures, and unconsented activities have ballooned to 223 incidents.

Between the builder, the partnership and Waka Kotahi, the three have been issued with 37-and-a-half thousand dollars worth of fines.

They've also received 50 infringement notices and 41 formal warnings.

GWRC chairman Daran Ponter says Transmission Gully is a large project.

He says the regional council has been on the case but the measures they have, aren't sufficient to send a message.
