    Police say State Highway 50 at Maraekakaho, near Hastings, will remain closed until mid morning, following a fatal accident between a truck and pedestrian

    Police say State Highway 50 at Maraekakaho, near Hastings, will remain closed until mid morning, following a fatal accident between a truck and pedestrian


    They were called to the scene just after 6pm last night.

    Initial reports suggest the person who died may have been unloading equipment from another truck when the collision occurred.

    Diversions remain in place and an investigation is underway.
