Kelly Osbourne’s pet pooch Polly has died following a “pulmonary heart defect”

The 36-year-old star took to Instagram on Thursday (22.07.21) to reveal the sad news that her fluffy white dog Polly has passed away, as she admitted she has been left “devastated” and “broken”

Alongside a picture of Polly, Kelly wrote: “I promised myself that I would take a brake from social media for the summer... however I thought I should let you all know that this week I lost my Polly to pulmonary heart defect! She has been by my side for 6 years. I do not no how to go on without her.

“To say I’m devastated is an understatement. I have never felt pain like this. I have lost my shadow. I don’t think I will ever get over this. My heart is broken. I am broken!!! I am not in a place to even talk about it. To all my close friends... if I don’t respond please understand that I just need time (sic)”

Kelly first revealed Polly was sick in May after she and her boyfriend Erik Bragg found the dog "hardly breathing and completely unable to move" in the early hours of the morning.

She said at the time: "We rushed her to the vet where she is currently being treated in the ICU. I was told they believe her heart stopped and they don't know why.

"This dog means more to me than anything in the world. She is my heart and soul. I don't think I would still be here if it was not for this dog.”

Meanwhile, it was recently claimed a dog belonging to Kelly – which was not confirmed to be Polly – once drank whisky and ate a lit cigarette while at a party.

In his book 'My Amy' - which chronicles his life with his late best pal Amy Winehouse - Kelly's friend Tyler James wrote: “We had this little doggy running around. We were all sitting round the dining table. I had a JD and the dog jumped on to the table and started lapping it up, out of my glass.

“Without a word of a lie, the dog took a lit fag out of the ashtray and started running around the flat, the fag in its mouth.

“Kelly was p***ing herself. We were all shouting, ‘F***, you can tell that dog’s an Osbourne’.”
