The jury in the trial of Eli Epiha will continue deliberations behind closed doors today

The jury in the trial of Eli Epiha will continue deliberations behind closed doors today

While the 25-year-old admits shooting Constable Matthew Hunt dead in June last year -- he denies attempting to murder his partner, Constable David Goldfinch.

The fact Epiha shot at the officers isn't in dispute, but jurors will have to decide if he deliberately tried to kill Goldfinch.

Natalie Bracken is also on trial -- charged with being an accessory after the fact to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The jury must decide whether she intended to help Epiha escape -- and whether she was acting under compulsion.

Jurors retired about 11am yesterday and will continue combing through more than two weeks of evidence.
