A Coroner's ruled an 81-year-old man died of sepsis -- not due to the actions of rest home or hospital staff

After Richard McFelin died in October 2016, his family raised concerns with the Health and Disability Commissioner about his treatment at Timaru's Elloughton Gardens.

But, nearly five years after his death, Coroner Marcus Elliot's ruled his death was probably due to abdominal and chest sepsis.
