Nine people in New Zealand have died after becoming infected with RSV this winter

Nine people in New Zealand have died after becoming infected with RSV this winter

Auckland District Health Board says six patients with the respiratory virus have died, but the virus may not be the cause of death.

And a 63-year-old North Shore woman died at home with RSV after being discharged from North Shore Hospital.

Capital and Coast DHB reports one adult death related to the virus, but says no children in its intensive care units have died.

Canterbury District Health Board says one patient's died with an RSV-related complication and pre-existing conditions.
