A low adherence to diabetes medication is causing concern

A new Otago University study has found groups suffering from type 2 diabetes, are more likely not to continue with their medication.

Researchers used Ministry of Health data of 85-thousand people with type 2 diabetes to examine patterns of discontinuation.

It was found 28 per cent of the study members have discontinued at least once in the first year of treatment.
