The cost of treating cancer could be set to become more affordable... for some

A bill was pulled from the ballot, which would see unfunded chemotherapy drugs administered in public hospitals.

Chief Executive of the Cancer Society Lucy Elwood says there is still massive inequity in the cancer system, and anything that can start the conversation is a good start.

Lucy Elwood says administering the drugs can be up to a third of the cost.

However, there's concern bringing the drugs into the public system could increase waiting times for others.
