Work on Transmission Gully has been unaffected by yesterday's wild weather around the capital
18 August 2021
A slip on State Highway one near Paekakariki caused the southbound lane to be closed for most of the day.
The weather conditions also caused a train to derail on the Kapiti Coast.
Transmission Gully spokeswoman Natasha Utting says the 1.25 billion dollar motorway performed well, with no significant slips or damage
She says the new road will provide the Wellington region with greater resilience to these types of events when it opens in September.
