Businesses will be hoping for a swift move down to Alert level 2

Businesses will be hoping for a swift move down to Alert level 2

Cabinet is meeting today to decide whether the whole country, apart from Auckland, can drop down alert levels.

Currently there are only cases of Covid-19 in the community in Auckland and Wellington.

Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce chief executive Leeann Watson sees no reason why the Government should hold the South Island in level 3.

She says businesses are well and truly ready, as there haven't been any cases of the virus found there since lockdown began.
