A tramper that was stuck in the Tararua Forest Park north of Wellington has been found

Land Search and Rescue team members arrived at the McGregor Hutt shortly before 3am this morning...where the man was reported to be in good spirits.

He left Wellington on Sunday to complete a circuit along the Pinnacle Ridge...but lost his way.

Police had been directing him to the hut via a cellphone...while monitoring his position through his personal locator beacon.

Arrangements are being made as to how the man will be flown out once weather conditions allow.
