Assurances a Covid-positive truck driver followed protocols...when stopping at a number of supermarkets

The driver visited stores in Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty for work, before testing positive for the virus.

Director of Public Health Caroline McElnay says he was masked and socially distanced.

She says staff who were in close proximity to the driver have been stood down and are isolating - and at no time do drivers go into stores as part of their delivery or pick-up.

McElnay says while the supermarkets aren't locations of interest, other exposure sites are on the Ministry of Health website, including fuel stops and stores..
