Calls for the Government to provide more support to the events industry

Calls for the Government to provide more support to the events industry

A New Zealand Event Association survey reveals 55-percent of respondents believe the recent Covid response has had a considerable financial impact.

Survey analysis estimates the total loss to be around 17.5-million dollars, but that's only based on the financial losses reported by businesses that were willing to share that information.

The overall industry loss is likely to be much more.

General Manager Segolene de Fontenay says they want to see more action being taken.

She says they're asking the Government for a targeted fund that caters for the industry.
