    Tasman's Ranfurly Shield drought continues

    Tasman's Ranfurly Shield drought continues

The Mako have been beaten 34-22 by the Hawke's Bay Magpies in a bruising encounter in Napier.

Hawke's Bay rocketed out to a 17-3 lead after 16 minutes, but Tasman surged back to make it 24-19 by half time.

But a second half try to Magpies winger Neria Fomai put the Log O' Wood out of reach.

Tasman captain Mitch Hunt told Sky Sport they weren't good enough at the breakdown.
