    Belief New Zealand rugby league fans should feel upbeat about a second Kiwi side joining the NRL in years to come

    The Australian Rugby League Commission this week granted a new license to the Dolphins, joining the expanded competition in 2023.

    Former New Zealand Rugby League chair Andrew Chalmers is leading a bid to get the Wellington Orcas into the competition in 2026.

    He says there's a genuine view from the NRL to expand - as they understand the commercial and strategic value of a second New Zealand side.
