    An 18-year old has been arrested following a chaotic boy racer event In New Plymouth last night which saw a woman crushed between two cars


    Around 100 cars gathered on Connett Road at Bell Block, which is illegal during alert level two many performing skids and burnouts.

    One car lost control during a burnout and hit a parked car, a woman standing behind the car was injured and is in stable condition in Taranaki Base Hospital.

    An 18-year-old man has been charged and is due in court next month.

    Another incident on the same night saw police pelted with bottles and cans after they responded to a crash on Centennial Drive caused by diesel spread on the road by event organisers.
