This year's nationwide lockdown had a slight impact on people being diagnosed with cancer

This year's nationwide lockdown had a slight impact on people being diagnosed with cancer

A new Cancer Control Agency report shows 193 fewer people were diagnosed during August.

At the same time, cancer care continued largely uninterrupted.

It's an improvement on figures from last year's nationwide lockdown in April, which saw a 45-percent drop in diagnoses.

Chief Executive Diana Sarfati says they're working hard to ensure no one is going undetected.

She says they are working quickly to catch up with the undiagnosed patients.
