Pop-up Covid testing is available in Stratford -- after six cases were confirmed in the Taranaki district

Pop-up Covid testing is available in Stratford -- after six cases were confirmed in the Taranaki district

Three adults and three children from one family have tested positive -- including one who's now in hospital.

The family had apparently been reluctant to get tested and hadn't been using the Covid tracer app.

Taranaki Medical Officer of Health Dr Jonathan Jarman says two of the cases became unwell after returning from Auckland at the end of last month.

He says there's no school or pre-school exposures linked to the three children, which will be reassuring to schools and pre-schools in the area.

Meanwhile, the Far North is back in Alert Level Two -- alongside the rest of Northland.
