Whakatane Police are after information, over a suspicious fire at a commercial premises

Patrols spotted a burning car in a building on The Strand just before 1 this morning, that appeared to have reversed through the rear entrance.

The blue Subaru Forester had been reported stolen from Kawerau in October.

Police want to hear from anyone seeing the vehicle - or who was driving through the area at the time of the fire.

They're also reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding businesses.
