    A Police officer is in a stable condition after a hit and run on Sunday night

    A Police officer is in a stable condition after a hit and run on Sunday night


    He was seriously injured after being struck by a fleeing driver while laying road spikes in Auckland's New Lynn.

    The vehicle crashed soon after - and an unknown number of occupants fled.

    None have been found.

    A spokesperson says the injured officer is in good spirits after having surgery yesterday.
