Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome has received confirmation his men's side had two big officiating mistakes awarded against them in the 2-nil loss to Western Sydney

Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome has received confirmation his men's side had two big officiating mistakes awarded against them in the 2-nil loss to Western Sydney

Dome says the referees' assessor has told him the Wanderers should have had a red card for a first-half handball and Phoenix awarded a penalty.

And the Wanderers' first goal should have been referred back to the on-field referee for adjudication on a push on the Phoenix's Callan Elliot.

The Phoenix are back in action this evening against Western United in the FFA Cup.

Coach Ufuk Talay says it'll be a new-look line-up with another A-League match on Friday

    Kick-off is at 9.30pm.
