    Former Everton and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has turned down an interview for the vacant manager's job at the Toffees


    Rooney, who currently oversees at second-tier Derby County, had been reported as a candidate for the Everton opening after the dismissal of Rafael Benitez .

    But the former England superstar has confirmed he turned down the opportunity to interview.

    Rooney added he believes he's ready to be a Premier League manager, but his current role at Derby is important to him.
