More than 15-hundred Queenstown and Central Otago residents who had a Covid-19 booster shot may not have the third dose protection

More than 15-hundred Queenstown and Central Otago residents who had a Covid-19 booster shot may not have the third dose protection

It's believed the vaccines were stored at an incorrect temperature, impacting locals who had the dose from December 1 to January 28.

Southern District Health Board is apologising for any inconvenience and anxiety this causes.

Medical officer of health Susan Jack says no one affected is at risk of harm - but they are encouraged to get a replacement dose.

Queenstown-Lakes is a Covid hotspot - with one-thousand-226 active cases as of last Thursday.

There are 165 active cases in Central Otago.
