Liv Mackay is a step closer to fulfilling her dream of helming an America's Cup boat one day

Liv Mackay is a step closer to fulfilling her dream of helming an America's Cup boat one day

The 25-year-old has been named to skipper New Zealand's "Live Ocean Racing" team which will compete in the five round FTF26 foiling catamaran circuit in Europe from this weekend.

Peter Burling and Blair Tuke are behind the venture as a means to create pathways for the country's professional sailors.

Mackay says Olympian women form the core of the crew.
