Further details of a fatal crash in central Invercargill are emerging

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash on Queen's Drive, near Queen's Park shortly before 4pm yesterday.

Multiple people died, but police haven't confirmed the exact number.

Herald senior reporter Anna Leask is at the scene which remains cordoned off.

She says it's understood to involve teenage boys, and footage on social media shows a number of good samaritans racing to help in the aftermath of the crash.
