The Director of Waikato's Spring Hill Prison is launching a review after a District Court judge slammed its management

The Director of Waikato's Spring Hill Prison is launching a review after a District Court judge slammed its management

Open Justice reports an 18-year-old appeared in court on Wednesday for sentencing on charges including robbery.

However it couldn't proceed as prison staff failed to give Community Corrections access to the man to complete a pre-sentence report.

Despite being on remand since May... the offending itself may not result in imprisonment.

Judge Paul Geoghegan indicated he would likely receive home detention... which requires the completed report.

He says the delay's utterly unacceptable.
