Schools are experiencing staffing issues as our Covid cases rise

Schools are experiencing staffing issues as our Covid cases rise

Auckland's Carmel College has reverted to online learning until the end of this week due to the number of staff sick or isolating.

PPTA President Melanie Webber says teachers are exhausted and are coming back too soon after contracting the virus.

She says they've needed to come back into the classroom as there's not the relief available, they don't have the sick leave and worried about students.

Webber says while other people can take it easier after having Covid - you can't do that with teaching.
