A new review's highlighting the need for Wellington City Council to shake up how it takes care of its finances

The pre-election report is released every three years.
It calls the current financial settings for the council unsustainable - and suggests considering selling off assets.
City council chief executive Barbara McKerrow says they must continue to be a prudent financial manager into the future.
She says while they rely on rates income they also need to consider other cash flows ... including the performance of its commercial assets.
