The Auckland Tuatara's 2-1 win over Sydney was an emotional one, but not just for the homecoming

Before the game at North Harbour Stadium, the hosts retired their late teammate Ryan Costello's playing jersey - the American died of sudden cardiac arrhythmia three years ago at the age of just 23.

Tuatara outfielder Jax Biggers says Costello had an amazing effect on the community and team.



The Tuatara play the Blue Sox twice more today at 3pm, and 7pm.
