    Shotput has again been shortchanged by athletics officials who have allocated just four Diamond League meets on a 14 programme calendar for the discipline next year before the final in Oregon


    The series - held between May and September - starts in Doha.

    But the men's shotput - featuring Tom Walsh and possibly Jacko Gill - won't begin until June in Rome with further meets in Oslo, Silesia and London before the final in Eugene in mid September.

    Some events - notably on the track - are being staged eight times while Hamish Kerr could get to compete in up to seven men's high jump Diamond League meets.
