A MetService heavy rain warning is in place for Eastern Marlborough and Northern Canterbury

It's in place for Eastern Marlborough south of Kekerengu and North Canterbury north of Hurunui river from 7am until noon.

MetService says the heavy rain could cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly and could cause slips and surface flooding.
