Jacko Gill has upstaged Tom Walsh and won the national men's shot put title in Wellington for the first time

Gill, competing against Walsh for the first time this summer, threw a best mark of 21.80m in the fourth round.
Five of Gill's throws would have been good enough to beat Walsh, who struggled and could only manage a best throw of 21.25m.
