    Enquiries are underway into the death of a person following a motorcycle crash south of Auckland last night


    Police were called just before five, after a motorcyclist crashed into a powerpole in Beachlands -- near the intersection of Beachlands Road and Whitford Maraetai Road.

    The person died at the scene and the roads expected to be closed for several hours.

    Investigations are ongoing.
