Earlier Alzheimers detection could be on its way

Otago University researchers are looking into a possible blood "bio-marker" which could signal the brain disorder.

Researcher Ashleigh Barrett Young says bio-marker work goes hand in hand with treatment.

She says in order to develop a good drug treatment, those with the disease need to be identified.

There is still no precise known cause or cure for this common form of dementia, despite decades worth of studies.
