    An Ashburton College student has been seriously injured, after his clothes caught fire during an automotive class today


    Fire and Emergency and St John were called to the College campus before 11 o'clock.

    Principal Ross Preece says the student was using a grinder and not wearing an apron, when his clothes caught alight.

    He's suffered burns to his abdomen.

    St John say he's been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
