Thirty-two infringements have been dished out in a single day, by police targeting high-risk driving behaviour, in Central Otago

Otago Lakes Road Policing Sergeant Dylan Hannah-Jones says a police operation yesterday focused on driving on the Crown Range and Cardrona Valley Roads.

Twenty-two tickets were issued to drivers crossing the centre line and carrying out unsafe passing manoeuvres, including two who were travelling nearly twice the speed limit on the wrong side of the road through Cardrona Village.

A further ten infringements were issued for a range of offences including speeding, using mobile phones and failing to wear seatbelts.
