The South Island's West Coast is anticipating its biggest summer season in years

Most attractions along the 400-kilometre coastline have suffered low visitor numbers since the pandemic hit in 2020.

But West Coast-Tasman MP, Maureen Pugh says there's indications of big numbers heading west of the Southern Alps -- to experience the region's unspoiled, natural beauty.

She says there's a range of affordable and family-friendly activities on offer, and the region's cycle-trails are a major draw-card.
