    Golf superstar Rory McIlroy is talking up the potential of a more global structure for the world's best players as he gets set to tee off his 2024 season alongside Ryan Fox


    The Northern Irishman and New Zealander have been paired together for the opening round of the Dubai Invitational - teeing off at quarter past 6 tonight.

    As potential merger talks continue between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf - McIlroy says a global schedule akin to Formula One is his dream scenario.



    Fox's countryman Daniel Hiller also features in Dubai - teeing off just after 7pm.
