Wellington's Mayor admits her Council can't give Wellington Water everything it wants

Water funding will be a hot topic at its finances workshop this week - and introducing meters.

The authority's asking for 2.5 billion over the next decade - but Tory Whanau says the money's not there.

Council previously gave it 7.9 million dollars - when asked for 10 million.

Whanau notes they didn't immediately give all the money it asked on, fearing it would not directly go to pipes.
