Kiwi driver Shane van Gisbergen has offered support via social media to Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki as the latter deals with what appears to be a contract dispute

Little has been said by Kostecki and his Erebus Motorsport team - other than the fact he'll sit out the opening event of the year.

Van Gisbergen went through a high-profile contract dispute himself just over a decade ago and says the team and media setting the narrative out of your control is not fun.

He says he hopes Kostecki is back driving this year.
