    Some residents on Christchurch's Port Hills are being evacuated as a fire burns across the hills


    Fire crews were called just before 2:30pm to Worsleys Road, with multiple tankers and at least four helicopters responding.

    The wind has picked up, and the blaze can be seen moving towards the Hoon Hay Valley.

    The region is in a complete fire ban.
