Police have confirmed an infant died in a South Taranaki house fire this morning

Emergency services were called to the Fitzroy Street property in Normanby, just north of Hawera, shortly after four-am.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Louise Prendergast says investigators are at the scene and a scene examination is underway, along with enquiries in the area.
