Police have released more information about a body found in the Gulf Harbour earlier this week

A homicide investigation's underway after a fisherman discovered the body in a bag on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the victim was a middle-aged woman of Asian-decent, possibly Chinese, and small in stature.

They've appealed to the public for information.

Acting Detective Inspector Tim Williams says they'll be releasing images of the clothing she was wearing -- this includes a pair of blue patterned pyjama bottoms and the emblem on a light coloured singlet she was wearing.

Williams says the items of clothing led police to believe she could be Chinese.
