    New Southern Steel captain Kate Heffernan is relishing the support of Silver Ferns veteran Shannon Saunders, who's returned to the ANZ Premiership after sitting out last year on maternity leave


    Last year's wooden-spooners open their campaign against the Mainland Tactix in Christchurch tonight.

    Heffernan says Saunders is a fount of knowledge.



    Centre pass is at 7.30pm.
