Alexa Penavega and her husband Carlos are mourning the loss of their daughter after she was "born at rest"

The 'Spy Kids' actress went public with the heartbreaking news on Monday (15.04.24) after their fourth child - a little girl named Indy - was stillborn but Alexa, 35, feels grateful to have "found peace" after the tragedy

In a candid post on Instagram, she wrote: "There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss. After a beautiful and peaceful delivery, our daughter 'Indy' was born at rest.

"I was been a painful journey. But in the pain we have found peace. God continues to comfort and hold us in his arms. The prayers from the community around us have been so sustaining in this difficult season."

Alexa went on to credit her daughter with changing the couple's lives, adding: "This little girl has already changed our lives in so many ways. She was absolutely beautiful. And looked just like daddy. Dark hair and all.

"Grief has come to us in waves. Moments of feeling absolutely gutted ... then moments of feeling blessed by just getting a moment with her."

She went on to admit they have no idea why their daughter was stillborn and they may never "get answers".

Alexa concluded: "We can't understand why things like this happen and we may never get answers. Indy Rex PenaVega, you completely changed our world.

"You moved us to a new place. You gave us the community we have been longing for. We love you [and] can't wait to see how many other lives you change."

Alexa and Carlos, 34, married in 2014 and are parents to sons Ocean, seven, and Kingston, four, as well as daughter Rio, two. They announced the fourth pregnancy in November.
