Pressure's on the Government to deliver for people come Budget day

Pressure's on the Government to deliver for people come Budget day

An OECD report's revealed New Zealanders saw the second-largest tax hike in the developed world last year.

Single Kiwis saw a 4.5 percent increase in tax paid year on year between 2022 and 2023.

Taxpayers Union spokesperson James Ross says the Government needs to put its money where its mouth is.

He says it's got to deliver tax relief, and a one off adjustment isn't enough.

Ross says there has to be commitment to ongoing indexation to inflation.
