A friendly animated dolphin is helping teach kids about safety online

Netsafe has launched educational programme Hector's World - aimed at five-to-10-year-olds.

It's available in English and Te Reo - and includes topics like cyberbullying, privacy and digital footprints.

Netsafe chief executive Brent Carey says there's growing concern about this age group's safety, as technology advances.

He says we need to start talking earlier to children about online behaviour, so it becomes ingrained.
