Details are emerging about Wednesday's fatal house fire near Canterbury's Burnham Military Base

Details are emerging about Wednesday's fatal house fire near Canterbury's Burnham Military Base

A 16-year-old girl died and three others were injured.

Stuff is reporting the girl -- whom Police haven't yet formally identified -- called emergency services from the burning home but didn't manage to escape.

Newstalk ZB's Jaime Cunningham says all that remains of the house is broken glass and blackened wood, and flowers people have laid.

Police say enquiries are ongoing but they don't believe the fire is suspicious.
