Scrutiny of Transport Agency processes, after alleged bribery at an Auckland driver licensing branch

Scrutiny of Transport Agency processes, after alleged bribery at an Auckland driver licensing branch

Five driver testing officers have been sacked from the VTNZ Highbrook branch - with NZTA and Police investigating.

More than 300 people must resit practical driving tests.

Transparency NZ Chief Executive, Julie Haggie, says NZTA will need to review how it contracts out driver licensing.

She says it'll need to ensure it has sufficient systems to monitor, place expectations with contractors like VTNZ and that they have checking mechanisms.
