Health New Zealand reports an increase in full-time equivalent workers of more than 11 percent.
The growth in the workforce has led to a reduction in vacancy rates, with some professions experiencing a 50 percent decrease.
The clinical psychology and psychiatry workforce is also seeing a boost.
2025 saw a record uptake in psychiatry training, with 48 junior doctors entering Stage-One training last year.
